Landing Of Cpr Locomotive No. 1 And Train Of 6 Flat Cars And Van In Winnipeg, Called The "Countess Of Dufferin". This Was The First Engine And Train To Land In Manitoba. It Was Brought From Moorhead, Mn, By Steamer Ship "Selkirk" With Barges And Unloaded At The Mouth Of The Seine River For Construction Of Cpr East From Winnipeg. There Was No Rail Connection With The Rest Of The Continent And Manitoba Until December 1878 |
